I am a retired reading and special education teacher. I have taught for over 30 years, have raised two daughters of my own. My daughter who is on this site has engaged me to help her to baby-sit for her occasionally. It has been a delightful experience which  brought many wonderful memories of the past when my children were little. I would be very happy to watch your little ones as well as your older children.

Ingrid was kind enough to help us out in a pinch in very short notice. She was kind, patient, and loving to our 6 mos. old twins. We only had the pleasure of her company for one day, but would happily have her as a sitter again. Thank you Ingrid!

Ingrid worked full-time for us beginning February 2010 through May 2010.  Our friend, who would be watching our daughter, was not available until June 1st, so we hired Ingrid for the interim.  Our daughter was three months old when Ingrid began.  

At the time, I worked at home two days a week, so I was able to experience Ingrid and our daughter interact.  Not once did I have any concerns and, as a first time mother, I learned from her experience.  Ingrid helped establish a schedule of eating and sleeping.  

Ingrid's experience is diverse with education, art, language, and history.  She is energetic, has a strong work ethic, is very reliable and trustworthy, and has a wonderful sense of humor.  Ingrid took our daughter for long walks, read to her, played with her, and cared for her as though she was her granddaughter. 

We now have a 4 yr  old, 2 yr  old, and 8 month old twins.  We had our full-time day nanny but were desperate for help at night.  The first person that came to mind was Ingrid.  Every night for 6 months, Ingrid took care of our twins.  She stopped when the twins began sleeping through the night.  She showed up every night at 10 pm, and this experience made her part of our family.  She helped in the morning while we got the older two ready and did whatever she could to make our mornings easier, at no extra expense.  She is so loving with all of our kids.  Ingrid and the twins have developed a very obvious and loving bond.  We call her Grammy, and she often continues to visit.  She will always be part of our family, and we will make sure that she remains a part of our children's lives. 
 

Ingrid was a saint.  She came over on a moment's notice, brought an amazing toy for my son which he loves, and both children were tucked in PJs and sound asleep when I got home.  Ingrid was amazing with my little ones.

Ingrid worked the overnight shift for me for a few weeks with my newborn son.  She did a GREAT job with him and allowed me to catch up on some sleep while my husband was deployed overseas and I had no other help.  She came on very short notice, was always right on time or early, and was willing to work any night that I needed her.  She's very honest and has a lot of experience - I was able to rest peacefully knowing my newborn was being taken care of very well.  Thanks again, Ingrid!

I haven't been on here in a while, but I have to say, this amazing woman totally came through for us in a pinch. My husband had an event to go to, and I had never let anyone who wasn't a blood relative watch my 10 year old son and 3 year old daughter. Above and beyond the call of excellence, she handled both of them with an iron fist (kinda necessary with my kids) and a teddy bear's heart. Both kids had an amazing time with her, and I didn't find myself checking the phone every 2 seconds in fear that something was going wrong. She put us as a family at ease, and it felt like I had left my kids with my mom, not a stranger. I'm a stay at home mom, so I don't leave my daughter ever, but when I need someone to watch my kid- I don't have to look any further.

I must say we are SO blessed to have found Ingrid on care.com.  She is amazing with our daughter and so kind-hearted.  She has expertise well beyond ANYONE we have met on this web site.  Her past teaching experience lends her skills in working with toddlers and preschoolers.  She is also really excellent at de-escalating a situation where a toddler has a tantrum and her discipline methods are nothing short of a miracle because they ALWAYS work!  She is in high demand, so we usually let her know at least a month in advance of when we REALLY need her.

We, absolutely, recommend Ingrid for any job that involves children. As a working mother, it is so comforting knowing that when you leave home in the morning, you are leaving your child in good hands. In other words, I don't spend my days worrying and feeling compelled to call home each hour like some of my colleagues.
