I'd describe my personality as patient, conscientious, and positive. I like tutoring because it gives me great satisfaction to help other people learn. I enjoy helping others. I'm looking for a job that enables me to use my strengths to teach others. I am looking for a student who is eager to learn. I started tutoring whenever I take time off from my classroom teaching. In my spare time, I like to exercise. I walk my dog, golf, play tennis, and work in my garden. One thing you should know about me is I have been a licensed teacher for 30 years. I am licensed in secondary language arts and math. I have a lot of experience teaching English as a second language. My skills include teaching reading, writing, and spelling. This includes experience tutoring dyslexic students (using an Orton-Gillingham method). I also have tutored and taught algebra one and geometry, as well as lower level math. I can teach math through algebra 2.
