About Ilana

Hi! My name is Ilana and I just graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a major in Early Childhood/ Childhood Education and a concentration in English. I have my NYS Initial Teaching Certificate (Birth - 6 grade). In the fall, I will begin earning my Master's Degree, part-time in Special Education at Queens College. I have about 5 years of experience working in childcare. I have worked at summer camps for 6 summers. From September 2021- January 2023, I worked at a day care center in New Paltz. I also student taught in a sixth grade classroom and in a second grade classroom. I want to be a teacher because I enjoy reading to kids and helping them learn more about the world. I like reading, walking and enjoying the outdoors. I am looking for a nanny/ babysitting position for this summer to gain more experience creating fun games and activities for children to learn and have fun!
