Hi there, I'm Holly :) I'm a creative, compassionate educator with over 8 years of experience in childcare, and 6 years of experience working in education as an elementary school art teacher, PE teacher, camp counselor, afterschool instructor and 1-to-1 aide for an autistic student. I was also a substitute teacher at a preschool for two years, where I fell in love with working with infants and toddlers. I am an extremely attentive and engaging caregiver and I do my best to avoid screen time as much as possible. I'd much rather be reading, working on art or science projects, exploring nature or playing games with your kiddos! I'm also a professional musician (singer-songwriter for an indie folk rock solo project) and a mixed-media artist. If your child is creative and loves art, we might be an excellent fit! Holly was a private school aide, home tutor and babysitter for my autistic son, who also has intellectual disabilities. She stood out among caregivers because of her creativity, intuition and intelligence. For most caregivers I have to line up a bunch of activities because my son is so hard to engage, but Holly came up with her own great ideas. One day I saw a nest in our tree outside and realized she and my son had made it and put it in the tree together. She always came up with fun projects that tied into academic concepts or other goals we were working on, and best of all she brought music into it, making up songs and playing guitar and singing with my son, or getting him drumming or playing a simple tune on the piano. She is reliable and completely trustworthy and has the best interests of the kids at heart.
