I am a social media manager and musical mentor looking for employment opportunities in Lubbock, TX. I have an educational background in psychology and human services. I have over 2 years of experience with young children- including one full year as a live-in nanny, one year teaching guitar in a studio to children of all ages. I also have senior care-giving experience and have been trained to work with Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. I worked as the Engagement Assistant at Sodalis Elder Living in Austin, Tx for a few months, which included overseeing 11 residents, helping them with meals, toiletries, and activities. I have 6 months of professional house-cleaning experience and have been driving for Uber since October 2016. I love caring for all kinds of animals. I especially enjoy helping people and connecting with others. My hobbies include creating and performing music, writing, reading, dance, kickboxing, and poorly executed jokes. I have a good attitude and love to stay active.
Holly has become such an important part of our family, and we feel incredibly lucky to have her caring for our daughter, M. From the moment she walks through the door in the morning, M.’s face lights up and she shouts “Holly!” with pure excitement — which tells you everything you need to know about the joy and trust she brings into our home. Holly has a special gift for connection and emotional teaching. When M. feels upset or has a hard time saying goodbye, Holly calmly helps her work through those feelings. She teaches her breathing techniques, validates her emotions, and then gently redirects her to something positive or engaging. Watching her guide M. through those moments with such patience and empathy has been remarkable. She brings creativity and enthusiasm into every day — planning thoughtful activities, adventures, and learning experiences that help M. grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. Whether it’s a morning at the park, a visit to the pumpkin patch or flower nursery, or music time at home (Holly is wonderfully talented musically!), she finds ways to make each day meaningful and fun. Holly’s care goes far beyond childcare. After I was in an accident that left me managing daily pain and frequent doctor appointments, she has been consistently considerate and supportive, often anticipating what our family needs before we even ask. She picks up around the house when there’s time, helps with meals, potty training, and naps — and does it all with calmness, reliability, and kindness. Holly is the kind of person whose light fills the room. She’s dependable, creative, and compassionate, and she genuinely loves helping children thrive — not just “get through the day.” Our family hopes to have her with us for as long as possible, but we also wanted to share how extraordinary she is with anyone fortunate enough to work with her in the future.
