I am a diligent educator with extensive classroom experience. My primary motivation to be a teacher is to spread academic interest and set a foundation of knowledge that my students can grow from. I care about the future of every single one of my students and want to provide them with the best opportunity to succeed in whatever way I am able. I believe that honesty, respect, and kindness are fundamental pillars of not just being a student, but being human. And I aim to nurture that philosophy in every aspect of my teaching. I like tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to have that extra time with students who need it the most that I don't get during my limited time in the classroom. My skills include Elementary and Middle school level general education (Math, reading, phonics, science, geography, history, etc.) as well as physical education, technology, and cooking.

My daughter has completed multiple tutoring sessions with Holden in both math and reading, and we have been very pleased with the experience so far. After the initial session, Holden conducted an assessment to identify her learning needs, and he provides helpful updates after each session summarizing the skills they worked on and what will be helpful for next sessions. Holden is very encouraging with my daughter when she shuts down from not understanding or knowing something and gets her back on track and excited to learn the new lesson, in a style she understands. My daughter, who is typically very shy and inattentive, genuinely enjoys their time together. Holden has also gone above and beyond by being creative and finding fun/playful resources that aligns with her learning style. We are happy to work with Holden and highly recommend him.
