I have 10 years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum from ages 5 to 20 in the school district. I have experienced different levels of autism, Aspergers and Downs syndrome. I have assisted students using Picture Exchange Communication boards, communication sheets and conducted speech therapy activities in between the times that the district therapist was available. I have learned a lot of sign language and can learn more for better communication. I have aided children with social and mobility issues in navigating their environment. My goal with every student was to help them get comfortable in pushing past their current boundaries to be able to do more and crush their goals. This community of people really have my heart. I had more fun and learned more from them than I ever thought possible.
