About Helen

Helen has been an enormous help with our Dad. He has very limited mobility, but has good cognitive function and Helen has been providing periodic care for over a year. Helen is trained in occupational therapy which has helped my Dad’s mobility in concrete ways. She has made getting into and out of the car easier for him by suggesting a detachable metal handle which inserts into the ring of the door frame. She ensures Dad gets periodic bouts of needed exercise, even if it’s just laps around the house using his walker. Her therapy training comes in handy when in conversation with Dad-she asks thoughtful questions spurring his memory by asking about his experiences and connecting his memories of the past to his ongoing experience of the present. She is practical, kindly, and warm with him and he responds by becoming more lively and engaged when she’s present. I recommend her without reservation.
