About Helena

I am a NC State alumnus, earning my Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Language Arts and Social Studies Education and a Minor in Spanish. I have taught in over seven public and charter middle schools in North Carolina and Florida, and currently hold an active teaching certificate in both states. Raised the seventh of nine children: I am a natural communicator, energetic, patient, and hardworking. I aim to provide all students with the confidence, capabilities, and independence necessary to write their own life story. All grade level tutoring offered in History, English, and Spanish. As a musician, writer, and artist: I provide all ages beginner guitar, ukulele, voice, and art lessons. I specialize in the neurodivergent learning style through hands on activities and project based assessments, while taking into account individual strengths and sensory needs. I am bilingual and most recently taught seventh grade ELA in both English and Spanish to meet the needs of ESL scholars.
