Experience: 10 yrs
I taught for 40 years and I'm currently retired I taught Social Studies for three years before switching to teaching students with special needs. I am trained in Wilson and Linda Mood Bell. I have designed and implemented programs for students on the autism spectrum that include the use of ABA, sensory integration, PECS and augmentative communication devices. I'm passionate about helping children learn because of the change I see in them as they master something that has been difficult for them in the past. This is especially true for helping non-verbal students develop an appropriate communication system either with PECS, augmentative communication devices and/or sign language. I have taught language arts, math, history, science, study skills, vocational skills, and life skills.
