About Heather

I'm in my last year as an Interdisciplinary PhD student at Virginia Tech who specializes in creative writing and neuroscience. I've worked with all ages in STEAM, creative writing, technical writing and communication, essay writing, research writing, improvisation, speech writing, comedy writing, and humor coaching. I love to teach and look forward to helping others learn. I'd describe my personality as funny, inquisitive, and a problem-solver. I'm looking for a job that works with my summer research schedule. I started tutoring when I was getting my undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia. One thing you should know about me is I like to make people laugh. My skills include writing stories and speeches, and using play to learn and reduce stress in the process.
