About Heather

I began working with children after my mother remarried into a big family. I immediately adored my new nieces and nephews for their curiosity and intrinsic kindness. I worked as an Assistant Preschool Teacher at Children's Academy in Simsbury, CT. It was incredibly rewarding to be a part of their mental and emotional development. I aided in managing a total of 29 children, and each of them left an impact on my heart. Children see the world in such a uniquely thoughtful way. They're intrigued by everything and find magic in the simplest places. Having the role of encouraging this creativity, supporting them as they learn more about the world, process their feelings, and develop their interests is such an honor. I got to help kids in my class paint their first rainbows, kick themselves on the swing for the first time, make new friends, and learn the foundations for school. In my spare time, I like to practice yoga, go for nature walks, write, draw, read, and cook.
