About Heather

I have 6+ years of professional experience working with infants through teens in various settings, such as teaching in childcare centers, nannying, babysitting, and tutoring. I'm passionate about supporting children with additional support needs. I have experience with autistic children, including non-speaking and PDA profiles, as well as children with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and PTSD. I provide neuro-affirming, trauma-informed care, and follow current best practices. I have experience creating and teaching developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum from a play-based philosophy that draws on Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and Montessori. I also have experience supporting cyber learners and homeschoolers at all grades. I have lots of experience with potty training. I speak conversational Spanish and enjoy incorporating language exposure into daily learning. I also have experience with baby sign language. I'm comfortable with all pets, do not smoke, and am CPR/1st Aid certified.
