About Heather

I have extensive experience working with children and adults. This includes homeschooling, substitute teaching in public schools, teaching English to native Spanish speakers, and teaching children, youth and adults in church classes. I love seeing the light that fills my students' eyes as they understand a new concept, or gain deeper insights from things they'd previously learned. I have a relaxed, conversational style. I listen to my students, and seek to understand them. I believe that the best learning takes place in an environment of mutual respect, emotional safety, and creative problem-solving. In addition to one-on-one tutoring, I am available to teach English to small groups.
