About Heather

For the past 20 years, I have been dedicated to helping students unlock their full potential. With a graduate degree and as a certified teacher, I specialize in Math, English, Special Education, Study Skills, and History for students of all ages. I am experienced with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and student accommodation plans (504). My teaching philosophy centers around creating an engaging, supportive, and patient learning environment where every student feels empowered to succeed. I achieve this by adapting my teaching methods to each student's unique learning style through varied strategies and open communication. I keep students motivated by connecting challenging topics to their interests, celebrating small successes, and breaking down complex problems. I believe in open communication with students and parents to ensure we are all working together. Witnessing a student's confidence blossom as they grasp new skills is the most rewarding part of tutoring.
