About Heather

I'd describe my personality as energetic but disciplined. Mary Poppins without all her magic! I like working with kids because I want to be who I needed when I was younger. I love how kids view their world. Letting them explore and do their work is so important for them to figure things out on their own. I'm looking for a job that is helpful to others, especially parents. I have over 20 years experience working with children. I was first a preschool teacher, then Special Education teacher and now I am Board Certified in Applied Behavior. I like to crochet, read, watch sports and travel with my family. One thing you should know about me is that I have 5 kids that were five years and under! My skills include behavior management, naturalistic play and developing social emotional development that is age-appropriate. I know that young children have very big feelings and that's ok.. modeling for them how to navigate their "big problems" can be helpful.
