About Heather

Hi parents! I'm Ms. Heather Fav -- a creative, movement-based special needs tutor with 10+ years of teaching experience. I currently work in a self-contained high school classroom supporting autistic, ADHD, and Down syndrome learners. Before entering education, I toured the world as a professional dancer and rehearsal director with Pilobolus, which shaped my belief that students thrive when learning involves confidence, imagination, and the whole body. I also taught at Rutgers University for 9 semesters before transitioning fully into special-needs education. I offer individualized online tutoring for ages 8-18, focusing on reading/writing support, homework help, executive functioning, life/social skills, and movement-based regulation strategies. My approach is warm, patient, creative, and designed to help each student feel successful and understood. I'd love to connect and learn more about your child!
