About Heather

Hi Students (and parents)! I am an Instructor & Doctoral Candidate at UMass Amherst. I have been teaching for more than 7 years and tutoring for almost a decade. I specialize in the humanities and career skills. And I work with students from Grades 5 - Grad School. I have taught a range of courses involving reading, writing, and development skills in the humanities. I am happy to discuss other subjects with you as well. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the vast majority of my tutoring takes place remotely, through Zoom or Facetime. However, I also have a home office in Westfield, MA setup for quiet small group or one-on-one work with students. Parents are welcome to sit in on any tutoring session. If in person, there is a couch in the work space for parents to relax. Parents may also sit in via Zoom. I do ask that parents allow their children the space to be individual thinkers if sitting in.
