My name is Harper and I am a 26-year-old transgender male (I am including this piece of information because I feel it is necessary to be completely honest with those putting me in charge of their children). I have 10 years of child care experience and seven years of experience working with people of all ages with social/emotional challenges. I received my bachelors in counseling from Lesley University and am working towards my masters in clinical mental health counseling at William James College. I have worked as a therapeutic first grade teacher and currently work in adolescent inpatient psychiatry as a behavioral health therapist. I have a clean driving record and I am very safe on the road. I am also great with pets and love being outdoors! Harper is an extremely dependable, thoughtful caregiver who has been helping us take care of our three kids (two boys and a girl, ages 6, 3 and 3) for about a year now. He picks them up a school/daycare, plays with them, makes their lunches, folds their laundry, bathes them, dresses them for bed, etc. In short, he's capable of doing whatever we need help with at any given time. We trust him deeply and he's one of the few people that can put all three of our kids to bed on his own. At this point, he feels like part of our family. Two things stand out about Harper: 1) He's extremely dependable, communicating very well about scheduling and never missing work without plenty of advanced notice. 2) He's extremely mature, dealing with potentially stressful childcare situations with a calm but firm demeanor. We can recommend him for childcare without any hesitation. Other families would be lucky to have him.
