About Gwendolen

Currently, I am a Calvin student studying Art History, but taking a semester off before I graduate in the spring. I have been involved in the Calvin Community as an academic coach for incoming freshman to help them acclimatize to a college environment, as well as being on the Academic Standards Committee, Student Disciplinary Committee and coaching the college rowing club. I have also been involved in the Grand Rapids community as an intern at The Grand Rapids Art Museum and a volunteer at the Kent County Animal Shelter. Both last summer and last year I had extensive experience as a nanny for three families. Last summer, I was a nanny, full time for two children, ages 8 and 11. For the family I did everything from grocery shopping to helping with homework and cleaning. I also drove the boys to their activities, scheduled play dates and found fun things for us to do with the free time they had. This experience really opened my eyes to how much I enjoy being with children as well as teaching and helping them evolve into loving and curious people. I found it so rewarding and also really missed it last fall and decided to continue in the spring. I was a nanny for two other families in East Grand Rapids as both, a nighttime baby sitter and doing after-school care for the children. Beyond that, I can assure you of my honesty and integrity, to which my references will attest. I am also an excellent cleaner, love animals, and am organized and responsible.
