About Gretchen

You'll find me to be creative, calm, and grandmotherly. I care for two wonderful boys: a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old with special behavioral needs, and I love them completely. My nanny career began with a nonverbal autistic child with type 1 diabetes. Having earned his trust, I still babysit to give his patents date nights. Prior to that, I was a substitute teacher and every day I learned something new. Caring for a child is a responsibility I take both seriously and lightheartedly. I'm looking for a position that allows me to put hard earned skills to use. My analog approach gets them off screens and exploring the world around them in safe, creative ways. In my spare time, I love hiking, cooking, gardening, crafting, and spending time with friends doing all of the above. I am creative through and through, and always bring adventure with me. My skills include multitasking, being patient and unflappable, and accurately calculating and dosing a diabetic child with insulin.
