About Gretchen

Over my lifetime I've taught many students in varying capacities. I taught English in Brazil, and science to kids in China. In graduate school ( engineering) I worked as a teaching assistant for a variety of labs and courses. I spent two years working as an on-site tutor and learning coach at a private high school in San Francisco, and taught SAT and GRE prep courses for the Princeton Review. My strengths are math, science, writing and German. I have a BS and MS in biomedical engineering, a PhD in neuroscience, and an MS in journalism. I have two decades of professional experience as a science and medical writer, reporter and radio producer.
