About Gretchen

I believe every child has the ability to learn--they just need to be taught in a way that makes sense to them. After raising four children of my own, I've learned that every child is unique, with their own personality, strengths, challenges, and learning style. When I work with a student, I start by listening. I want to understand what they find difficult, what they enjoy, and what motivates them. Then I weave those interests into our lessons, making learning feel relatable, and less intimidating. My greatest joy is watching a child realize they can do something they once thought was impossible. I strive to create an encouraging, and supportive environment. My goal isn't just to help children master a lesson--it's to help them develop confidence in themselves as learners that will stay with them long after our time together.
