I started working caring for children at a local family daycare as an assistant provider about 9 years ago. After the second year, the daycare closed and I decided to open my own daycare. One of my goals was to teach the kids Spanish as a second language, that was my biggest accomplishment. Also, I worked on my program with a schedule so the kids from different ages had projects or activities to do according to their ages. I received training from the Child Care Council of Westchester about how to approach kids from different ages and help them to learn in ways more easy and playful for them. Another very important aspect of my program was child safety. I completed training on how to respond in case of emergencies, and my staff and I are certified in CPR & First Aid. Also, I took classes on how to help kids with different special needs, such as Asthma or allergies. I have been taking care of babies from 6 weeks old to 12 years old. ?
