I started working caring for children at a local family daycare as an assistant provider about 9 years ago. After the second year, the daycare closed and I decided to open my own daycare. One of my goals was to teach the kids Spanish as a second language, that was my biggest accomplishment. Also, I worked on my program with a schedule so the kids from different ages had projects or activities to do according to their ages. I received training from the Child Care Council of Westchester about how to approach kids from different ages and help them to learn in ways more easy and playful for them. Another very important aspect of my program was child safety. I completed training on how to respond in case of emergencies, and my staff and I are certified in CPR & First Aid. Also, I took classes on how to help kids with different special needs, such as Asthma or allergies. I have been taking care of babies from 6 weeks old to 12 years old. ? Grace is incredibly easy to work with and wonderful with children. We were a hot mess when she started with us. Grace came in and just started taking care of the baby, worked and talked with me about my concerns and fears and helped us get a routine going. The baby thrived under her care and I was able to relax and enjoy my baby for the first time in months. Grace became a great friend and a true partner in our child's life.
