About Grace

I like being able to encourage kid's sense of understanding from exploring the world around them. I treasure the small moments, the questions, and the conversations. I'm looking for a job that follows a routine, but has room to play, go to the park, or to rest and watch a movie, if it's okay with the parent(s). I started working with kids quite a few years ago, when a friend of my father's asked for assistance caring for his daughter. Later I would work at her after-school program as an assistant teacher. In my spare time, I like to write, paint, and have made amateur costumes and props for conventions and holidays. I come from a family of creatives and problem solvers-- musicians, artists, electricians, etc. I can be sensitive. When kids find bugs outside I tell them not to squish them, because the outdoors is their home. When a child is upset I ask them which they prefer-- a moment apart (which would still be under supervision, but from a distance) or a comforting touch.
