I like working with animals because it kind of recharges your soul. I volunteered at an animal shelter while in Texas and found that it was really soothing after working a busy shift. I've been around animals since I was a kid: family pets ranging from PetSmart parakeets to kittens found in our shrubs. My first job as a teenager was guiding horses for summer camp kids. I fostered pit bulls when I lived in Texas, and now have two doodles at home. In my spare time, I'm an avid reader. I also like hiking, skiing, and birdwatching.
