Gloria instantly became part of the family and took care of my mom 3 to 4 times a week… 2 to 3 hours each time. Gloria lives on Long Island near my mom but I live in South Carolina. So, as you can, imagine, I depended on Gloria a lot. She is extremely dependable, thinks on her feet, is knowledgeable about dementia, trustworthy… And jumped in when I needed her the most. I asked her to bring her little dog on her visits because I knew it was the only way my mother would allow her in the house. Her dog played nicely with my mom’s dog and they always had a great visit. Gloria always offered to do more for my mom, but my mom really just wanted conversation and company. They became friends. When it came time for the most difficult part… To move my mom down to South Carolina to an assisted living apartment, Gloria offered to do the drive with me because she knew it would be complicated. It was complicated and I could never have done it without her. Gloria is a lifesaver! If you are lucky enough to hire her, your family will be thrilled.
