About Glendia

Glendia was my elderly mother’s caregiver for several years. We couldn’t have asked for a better person. She arrived promptly and stayed beyond her shift if it was necessary. She bathed my mother, changed her sheets and did her laundry. Glendia prepared Mama's breakfast every morning, snacks at night and other meals depending on the shift she was working. She fed my mother when she was no longer able to feed herself. Glendia kept Mama’s room tidy. She took care of calling for medication refills, sorting the medication and making sure Mama was given her medications on time each day. Glendia accompanied us, and sometimes drove, to doctor’s appointments. She brought joy to our mother by talking and laughing with her, playing music for her, and by calling me (an out of town daughter) to talk to my mother when she was awake. Glendia made my siblings and me feel like we were family. I often teased her by saying she needed to be cloned because she took better care of my mother than any other caregiver. Glendia was, by far, the best caregiver my mother had.
