My passion is creating an engaging nurturing environment by modeling respect and treating individuals with dignity. As a residence counselor for individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness, I led individual sessions on symptom management, assertive communication, substance abuse and addiction, health services, socialization, and medication management under the guidance of a leader with their QMHS. I used mindfulness techniques, motivational interviewing, exposure techniques, and art expression as tools for growth. I provided supervision during medication times to ensure medication adherence and crisis intervention. I enjoyed assisting and watching clients grow and provided transportation and support for that growth.
