About Gina Maria

I'd describe my personality as adaptable, compassionate, and creative I like working with kids because I was once a kid in need of safe and kind mentors. I understand the need for a calm, caring, and trustworthy adult. I like arts, play, and creative thinking! I started working with kids when I was a junior in high school, just coming out of YMCA sleepaway camps myself, I entered to be a counselor-in-training, so I could learn first aid, wilderness safety, and skills like conflict resolution, team building, and the basics of helping kids with their Activities of Daily Living. I have cared for kids 16 months to 10 years, tending to social-emotional needs, and more. In my spare time, I like to watch movies, engage in creative writing, listen to CDs and go to libraries and museums. One thing you should know about me is that I'm in grad school for social work. My skills include active listening & communication, (developmentally appropriate) creativity, organization & planning.
