I spent these years waking her up, dressing her, cleaning her, making food/coffee, and entertaining her day. We grew much closer due to this experience. Seeing her old friends not getting this same treatment in their time of need broke my heart. If I can provide this same welcoming and home feeling to another that won't be able to receive it, it allows me to selfishly feel joy.
