As a young adult, I was given a chance to work around children and since then I've spent my summers as a counselor, teacher, and assistant working with different age groups in various environments such as camps and daycares. I have over 4 years of experience. I often travel through the boroughs to try new restaurants, visit new places, or go to dance classes so I'm open to babysitting anywhere in NYC! Gianna watched my two babies for about a month and change. She started off strong, appeared to be attentive, organized and communicative. However, things changed rather quickly. Her demeanor seemed more like “I’m just here to do my job and leave.” They are babies, I don’t expect anyone to care about them as much as I do, but THIS IS what the job entails. There were two incidents that occurred in one week span with both children that sounded the alarm for me. She was slow to respond, had no sense of urgency, didn’t notify me in a timely manner both involving their safety. I don’t believe she’s capable of caring adequately for babies. School age children who can communicate and are independent are best suited for her personality. Outside of this, she’s very sweet and pleasant. I think this was a learning experience for her and moving forward, I hope she’s realistic about her capabilities.
