About Gerda

We had our first child in October and hoped to be able to bring in a full-time care provider for about 3 months to cover the time when I returned to work in January until we started daycare in April. We had a provider fall through very close to my return to work which was disheartening but then we met Gerda. My husband and I were happy with her experience especially around newborn to one year old care and the emphasis Gerda placed on tummy time and milestone activities. Many things that we discussed in our early conversations were quickly put into action with our little girl and we saw great progress within the first two weeks. We expressed we were hoping to start a 7PM-8PM bedtime and start to get her comfortable dropping a late-night feed by 4 months. Gerda helped us to get there quickly by ensuring she was getting enough ounces during the day and her sleep throughout the day supported an earlier bedtime. Gerda is very passionate about tummy time and has been a tremendous help for our little one to help her stay on track to hit those important milestones. As new parents, her guidance has been tremendously helpful, and it keeps us all on the same page offering consistent care as a team to our daughter. While Gerda comes with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in newborn to one-year olds, which makes us feel very comfortable leaving our child in her care, most importantly she genuinely enjoys her time with our little girl. Gerda introduces her to new music, dances with her, reads books with her, interacts with her and her toys and has quickly learned her personality, making them fast friends. In between care, it has also been a pleasure to learn more about Gerda and her life as we welcome her into our home. I believe there are a lot of individuals who can offer childcare, but Gerda takes it a step further being able to help our child receive one-on-one support to continue to learn and develop and set her up for success as we prepare for daycare.
