G has been with us since my son was a few months old. She was almost immediately a part of our family. As a first time mom, I was in way over my head and when it came time to go back to work she made that very hard transition so much easier. I knew when I went to work my baby was safe & loved. As a total control weirdo, that is hard for me to feel. My son adores her. We adore her. She is professional, she really really listens and she shows up. In the year she has been with us, she has never once called in sick or left us hanging. She's on time and always flexible (even when I can barely remember my own schedule). She is eager to do extras. She is extremely hardworking & dedicated. She gives you an absurd amount of notice on any days she has personal obligations. She is thoughtful and has never once overstepped even though she has way more of experience with children/babies than I do. Postpartum & motherhood has been such a raw and vulnerable time. I cannot imagine, truly, getting through it without G (aka Gigi to us). She is amazing with my son most importantly, but, she also cared for me and our family in a way that was beyond expectation & outside her job description. Cleaning, picking up, recognizing when I needed extra help & providing it without me even asking. I envy the family who gets her next. We are moving to Virginia and I wish I could take her with us in my pocket. She is extremely special and nurturing.
