About Genesis

Hi, all! I was a highly effective teacher for 20 years and have taught at every grade level. Currently, I have taken a leave from teaching to pursue a PhD in literacy education at USF. Over the years, I have also tutored on the side, and the students have seen great success. I can help with Reading/Writing (Pre-K- college), Math/Science (Elementary only). I have also tutored/taught classes on test prep. I have teaching and personal experience with students with exceptionalities. I tend to use positive reinforcement (such as noticing, breaks, tangible or sensory toy) to motivate students to work through hard tasks. I establish a routine that remains the same during each visit, and I update the parents on progress each day. In the past, I have been in communication with child's teachers, even attending a conference and working closely with ABA therapist. I am open to doing whatever is in the best interest of the individual child.
