About Gemma

I have over 20 years experience working with children from newborn, multiples, toddlers to teens and also children with special needs. I am CPR certified and I have a degree in Education. I am also certified by the Maryland Child Care Board. I am loving, reliable, patient, nurturing, caring and energetic and I love working one on one with children stimulating their minds through reading to and teaching them to read, singing, dancing, building blocks, ABC's, Colors, Shapes, arts and crafts, playing age appropriate games, also taking them for walks, on play dates, to the park and the library, and other age appropriate activities. These activities will help in the development of the child's fine and gross motor skills, builds vocabulary, promotes language, balance and social skills. Also helping each child feel secure by giving him/her a sense of consistency and stability, so that he/she can feel happy and comfortable. I am available for full time employment starting September 2019.

Gemma is more than I could have asked for, she is a modern day Mary Poppins! We only planned for Gemma to take care of our 20 month twins for summer 2015 but she was so wonderful we asked her to stay with us for the entire year until they begin preschool. Gemma is patient, kind, dedicated, reliable, creative and fun loving. She understands child development which is clearly reflected in the growth we've seen in our children during their time with Gemma. We had not worked with a nanny before Gemma so I was hesitant initially. Now I know that having Gemma work with my twins was an experience that will benefit them for years to come! Her name says it all, Gemma is a rare gem!!
