About Gemma

Hi! My name is Gemma and I am a graduate student pursuing a Masters in Library Science at Simmons University with the goal of becoming a children's librarian. I am looking for a new part time role (~30 hours per week) as my current nanny family is moving. In my prior nanny roles, I have experience coordinating school drop offs and pick ups, early literacy instruction, group enrichment classes, socialization, and outings to parks, museums, and the aquarium. Prior to nannying, I was an Assistant Director at a summer camp in Cambridge, and I have worked at camps with elementary aged children since I was 16. ( I like to think I still bring camp counselor energy to my nanny/babysitting gigs.) I am a firm believer in the early development of literacy and social skills in young children and toddlers. I think treating kids with respect and trust is incredibly important for their development, and would love to work with a family who shares this mindset.
