About Gavia

Hello! My name is Gavia, and I am relocating to Portland to attain a doctorate in Occupational Therapy, after living in Alaska for 6+ years. I've worked with a wide variety of children, as well as older folks - from teaching STEAM lessons in remote Alaska Native villages, to leading outdoor preschool in my own front yard, to being a live-in-nanny and eldercare provider. I've supported elementary through high school students with learning and behavior challenges, and individuals nearing the end of their lives. I strive to recognize different types of intelligence, ways of learning, and seeing the world. I want to encourage and amplify what it is that makes each individual significant and special. I'm hoping to find a family with children of any age who I can support in being its best self, while I become mine. I enjoy cooking and light housework, and have a clean driving record.
