About Gail

My kid liked her. Otherwise, Gail was sloppy and shady. I had to rewash any dish she washed, she once left my kid's shoes on a kitchen counter where we prepare food, left a tablet precariously on the edge of that same counter, and she was so absent-minded it was mind-boggling. She assured us she’d stay for a year, left in less than 2 months, gave us less than a day’s notice, and made up a shameless lie to say she couldn't come to work the next day or come back at all when she actually just got a new job and decided to move on without giving us any notice (it was easy to confirm it was a lie). We had both signed an employment agreement that she would give 3 weeks notice if she was leaving, and I would give her 3 weeks notice (or pay in lieu of that) if I didn't need her anymore. I planned on honoring that contract should it be necessary - obviously she didn't. I had to scramble for childcare, take time off work, and my toddler was confused and sad. Also, 3 weeks in, she took a week off (paid). We were kind to her, to use her words, and yet she still burned us.
