About Gail

Gail has worked in my home for 5 months. She is very honest and hardworking. I was very surprised and disappointed when she did not show up for work, with no notice or indication that she was leaving. We discussed me potentially finding someone else due to a situation/limitation that she communicated to me; however, we had not discussed a leaving date, or the agreed upon 2 weeks notice time on both sides. We had an agreement that I would give her 2 weeks notice if I did not need her service, and she would do the same if she no longer wanted to work for me. Knowing that I could no longer use her service due to her newly communicated limitations, I even mentioned to her that I know someone who could use her services despite those limitations, and I passed her name along, but of course, she did not communicate that she was not interested in that alternate placement either. There is no perfect job or situation; however, I would always ask if everything is OK, and I never once had her tell me that she was unhappy or that we were not treating her with respect. If that was the case, again professional courtesy would dictate that this would be discussed. I work also, and I would never think of just walking off the job regardless of how horrible it is without letting the person know that they are horrible or that I intend not to return. I would have appreciated some professionalism and courtesy from her. Otherwise, she was a good housekeeper, not perfect as no one is, but I'd say I was fairly satisfied.
