About Gaia

Hello! I am an outdoor educator and professional mariner looking to fill in some gaps in work this summer. My first job as a teenager was babysitting for family friends and I've been working with kids ever since! For the last 11 years that's looked like crewing on traditional sailing ships that provide experiential and environmental education to students from 3rd grade through college. Every day I'm responsible for the safety of anywhere from 5 - 45 young people. I'm trained in, and help train others in, first aid, CPR, and emergency response. As an educator and caretaker I am calm, patient, and fun-loving. I firmly believe that we can set and hold healthy boundaries with kids while always staying kind and compassionate. Most of all I just love working with young people, supporting their sense of wonder, confidence, and connection to others.
