I always say "kids are the best coworkers!" I love working with children and engaging their curiosity- through both creative and academic means. Working with children allows me to adopt their refreshing perspective on the world- a much needed pick-me-up these days. As the oldest of three, child care has always been a part of my life. My experiences, both paid and unpaid, have allowed me to work with children between the ages of 5 months and 17. My Top 3 Childcare Skills: 1. My capacity to listen. Truly listening to children and engaging in conversation with them encourages them to do the same! 2. My respect for children and their boundaries. This may seem obvious, but I truly believe in respecting children's autonomy and meeting them where they are. 3. I organize engaging activities! In the past, I have planned scavenger hunts, interactive quizzes (like Kahoot) for topics I've tutored, and other activities (like a "chore relay race") that can make boring tasks, much more fun! :)
