About Fortune

Fortune has been an absolute blessing to our family, helping care for my mom who suffers from dementia coupled with debilitating vertigo. She quickly connected with my mom and learned what she liked, didn't like, how to calm her when she became frightened or upset, got her to laugh and move her body with exercises she could manage. She also provided the additional wonderful benefit of friendship and support to my father who had been caring for my mom up to the time when we knew more help than any of us could manage was needed. Fortunes bubbly and happy personality was exactly what was needed and she fit in effortlessly and immediately. My mom comes with many challenges due to her condition that Fortune was able to manage without hesitance and with ease. She never became frustrated or sharp, always so kind and gentle. What was needed as time went on became more challenging and the hours became long at times. Fortune neve complained, always offered more help than we could have asked for .. Sadly, it has come to the time that my mom needs more help than can be offered at home, so we must say goodbye to Fortune as we move on to this next chapter. She will be so missed.. she's become more than a caregiver, we've considered her a friend. We will miss he greatly, however wishing her only good things going forward - do not hesitate in considering her. People like Fortune do not come along often. She is an absolute a gem.
