About Fatoumata

I've been working with kids since my junior year of high school, when I started as an infant daycare teacher at New Horizon Academy in Chaska. Since then, I've gained experience in a variety of roles that have strengthened my passion for working with youth. I currently work with Bloomington Public Schools as an Equity and Leadership Mentor, supporting high school students in their personal and academic growth. Previously, I worked as a Direct Support Professional through Shakopee Schools, and I've also tutored with the Upward Bound program. I like working with kids because I enjoy watching them grow, supporting them through milestones, and building meaningful connections. It's so rewarding to know I can play even a small role in their journey. I recently graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Concordia University in St. Paul, and I'm beginning the next steps toward a Master's in Social Work with a clinical focus.
