About Fatoumata

I started working with kids when I was junior in high school. I had a position through New Horizon Academy in Chaska as an infant daycare teacher. After that, I transitioned into working through Bloomington Public Schools as an equity and leadership mentor, which I still do now. I also worked as a direct support professional through Shakopee schools prior to transferring to St. Paul for my third year in college. On the side, I also have tutored through Upward Bound and engage in various community events, as well as being the event coordinator for the Gambian Youth Council here in Minnesota. I like working with kids because I enjoy watching them grow and building relationships with them over that time to be a small piece of their long journey to follow. I'd describe my personality as bubbly, patient, and friendly. In my spare time, I like to hang out with friends and family, binge watch movies and shows, try new foods, read, and self care activities.
