My approach to handling daily challenges with children is rooted in empathy. I enjoy engaging with children through conversation, naming things, and explaining how everything works. Children are new to the world and just figuring out life, and we know how frustrating that can be sometimes. I love spending time outdoors, and my favorite activities with the kids I care for include going to parks, libraries, museums, the zoo, farms, and indoor activities like reading books, arts and crafts, music, puzzles, and teaching shapes, words, etc I speak native Portuguese and fluent English. Ewellyn has been a wonderful nanny for my son for almost two years. She planned age appropriate activities, crafts and trips throughout her time with him. She would look for activities she knew he’d be excited about, like train trips for my son for example. She’s thoughtful, kind and highly reliable. I never once worried about my son when he was with her, I knew he was always safe and being well cared for. She would even try cooking new foods for him to try, like beets! My son truly loved her. We’re transitioning to preschool now, otherwise we would have absolutely continued having Ewellyn as our nanny. I cannot recommend her highly enough, any family would be very lucky to have her.
