About Evelyn

I'm a junior in college pursuing a degree in 4-12 science education. My goal is to foster curiosity and self-determination, which serves children of all ages beyond the classroom, into their futures and daily lives. I have experience as a teacher's assistant in elementary music, working in a k-5 after school program, and as a lifeguard. And, as an older sister with 11 younger cousins between the ages of 2 and 19, I take pride in my capacity to connect with all ages and levels of development. I especially love inspiring kids creativity and imagination. Encouraging them to think and helping them create - build a fort, cook a meal, act out a play, prepare a science experiment, make a drawing - gives them something to be proud of and find value in. Young minds are brilliant when we take the time to listen. I also emphasize having an "I'm working on it" mindset, promoting growth and resilience, because the way we talk to ourselves matters.
