Hello! I have worked with children off and on for over 20 years, including as a preschool teacher, daycare worker, camp counselor, elementary classroom assistant, and nanny. I also have a professional background in visual arts, non-profit work, and customer service, and through it all, working with kids has been one of my very favorite jobs, I get to play all day! My core MO with kids is engagement, I am always talking to, singing to, playing with, and interacting with the little ones that I care for. Of the utmost importance to me is what your little one likes and wants to do- I set boundaries around safety and respecting others, and collaborate with the children on the rest. I'm currently available for short- term full-time engagements and occasional and ongoing full days and evenings/nights. **please note** 7 hr daytime minimum (please don't msg with offers of less), 4-5 hr nighttime minimum. Sway came into our lives during an incredibly difficult time. My husband was sick and going through treatment, I was working full time, and we needed someone to help care for our very active toddler, H. Sway stepped in and was honestly life-changing for our family. From the beginning, she was incredibly kind, warm, and thoughtful, not only with H., but with my husband and me as we navigated a really rough chapter. H. absolutely adored her. They spent their days going to bookstores and libraries, exploring museums, getting outside, and going on little adventures. Sway even found and enrolled him in music classes. She brought endless energy and enthusiasm to every day, and I always felt like H. was having a genuinely wonderful time with her. I also appreciated how flexible and easygoing Sway was. During a period when so much of our life felt unpredictable, having someone we could trust completely, who could simply roll with what we needed, meant more than I can say. We thankfully aren’t really saying goodbye. We absolutely hope to keep Sway in our lives and have her as someone we can reach out to whenever we need extra help. She has continued to check in on our family since working with us regularly, which I think says so much about the kind of person she is. H. misses seeing her every day, and we do too. I genuinely cannot recommend Sway highly enough. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have her.
