When my mom got sick in 2020 I knew I had to step up and be there for her when no one else could. I was her caregiver for a year and a half before she lost her battle to liver disease. It was the hardest thing I ever had to go through, but also one of the most rewarding. Now I look back on it being thankful because it gave me the experience I needed to help others.
