About Erin

I'm a current teacher with 27 years of experience primarily in middle school English. I love working with students to help build confidence and understanding. I'd describe my personality as calm, caring, and encouraging. I like tutoring because there's nothing better than seeing a student connect with the content and build self confidence. I'm looking for a job that aligns with my belief that all students can achieve success. I started tutoring 30 years ago. I have experience with teaching students receiving special education services. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, go to the beach, read, and volunteer. One thing you should know about me is I have my certification from the Virginia Department of Education in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. My skills include working with students to build reading fluency and comprehension, improve written expression, and to make grammar work easier to understand.
